Practicum Blog Post – Alumni Spotlight Development

This week I focused on creating an alumni spotlight page for the Spring 2026 Honors Program Newsletter. I spent 3.5 hours on Sunday working through the content and design for this section.

To begin, I reviewed the alumni panel content provided for the Honors College to identify a strong candidate to feature. While going through the material, I found Rosalie Anthony to be especially interesting. Her background in dance, education, and community engagement stood out, along with how she has continued to build a career that connects the arts with student development.

After selecting her, I created a dedicated alumni spotlight page based on the existing newsletter template. This included formatting her name and designing the layout to fit within the established style of the newsletter. I also incorporated her photo and worked on balancing the visual elements with the text so the page feels clean and easy to read.

As I continue building out more sections like this, I’m becoming more comfortable working within the template while still finding ways to add my own creative touch. This week helped move the newsletter closer to a fully developed and complete piece.
