This week I focused on developing content for one of the main features in the Spring 2026 Honors Program Newsletter. I spent a total of 5 hours working on this, with 2 hours on Thursday and 3 hours on Sunday.

To start, I connected with Dr. Jessica McCort to gather more information about the Scholastic Writing Awards event. This helped me better understand the purpose of the event and the message that should come across in the newsletter. Having that context made it easier to write a caption that felt accurate and aligned with the Honors Program.

After gathering the information, I wrote the full caption for the section, making sure it captured both the significance of the event and recognized the students involved. I also spent time going through photos from the event, reviewing multiple images to determine which one would work best for the layout. I focused on selecting a photo that was both visually strong and representative of the event.

Once I chose the final image, I placed it into the newsletter and adjusted the layout to ensure everything looked balanced and cohesive. This week was a good step forward in making the newsletter feel more complete and content-driven rather than just a layout.
