Week of April 13, 2026
Total Hours Completed: 10 Hours
This week I focused on creating the cover photo for the Spring 2026 Honors Program Newsletter. I wanted the cover to feel more intentional and visually strong, so I decided to take a trip into Pittsburgh and photograph the city myself rather than relying on existing images.
On Monday, I spent a total of 8 hours between traveling to Pittsburgh, shooting, and editing. I went around the city looking for a shot that would best represent both Point Park and the overall feel of the Honors Program. I ended up capturing a photo on one of the bridges that highlights the city skyline and creates a strong visual entrance into the newsletter. After shooting, I spent time editing the image to make sure it looked clean, balanced, and ready for print.
After selecting the final image, I spent an additional 2 hours formatting it and placing it into the newsletter. This included adjusting sizing, alignment, and making sure it worked well with the existing template and branding.
Overall, this week was focused on elevating the quality of the newsletter by creating original content. Having a custom cover photo adds a more personal and professional touch to the final product.
